This fun and delicious appetizer features mini sausages wrapped in golden crescent dough, arranged in a wreath shape, and baked to perfection. It’s a crowd-pleaser for any occasion!

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 24 mini cocktail sausages
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (for decoration)
  • 1/2 cup honey mustard or your favorite dipping sauce

Instructions

Prepare the Dough and Sausages:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the Crescent Dough:
    • Roll out the crescent dough and separate it into triangles along the perforated lines. Cut each triangle into three smaller triangles.
  3. Wrap the Sausages:
    • Place one mini sausage at the wider end of a dough triangle. Roll it up tightly towards the pointed end. Repeat with all the sausages and dough pieces.

Assemble the Wreath:

  1. Form the Wreath Shape:
    • Arrange the wrapped sausages in a circular pattern on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a small gap between each one. Ensure the edges of the sausages touch to create a connected wreath shape.
  2. Brush with Egg Wash:
    • Brush the beaten egg over the dough to give it a shiny, golden finish. Sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if desired.

Bake the Wreath:

  1. Bake:
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Decorate and Serve:

  1. Decorate:
    • Let the wreath cool slightly, then garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs to resemble a holiday wreath.
  2. Serve:
    • Place a small bowl of honey mustard or dipping sauce in the center of the wreath. Serve warm.
