Pink Cotton Candy Grapes are a delightful, fun twist on a healthy treat. These grapes are coated with a sweet, colorful, cotton candy-inspired candy shell that makes them perfect for parties, snacks, or dessert. They’re as delicious as they are pretty!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (300 g) green grapes, washed and dried
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) water
  • 1/4 tsp pink gel food coloring
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla or cotton candy flavoring (optional)
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) sanding sugar or edible glitter (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Grapes:
    • Insert toothpicks into the grapes for easy handling. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Candy Coating:
    • In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water. Stir to dissolve the sugar, then bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
    • Let it boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer (hard crack stage).
    • Remove from heat and quickly stir in the pink gel food coloring and flavoring, if using.
  3. Coat the Grapes:
    • Working quickly, dip each grape into the candy mixture, twisting it to coat completely. Let the excess drip off before placing it on the prepared baking sheet.
    • If desired, sprinkle the coated grapes with sanding sugar or edible glitter for extra sparkle before the candy sets.
  4. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the candy shell to harden completely, about 10-15 minutes. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day.

Notes

  • Work carefully with the hot candy mixture and avoid touching it directly.
  • You can use other food coloring to create a rainbow of grape colors.
  • Replace the vanilla flavoring with cotton candy or another extract for different flavors.
