Ingredients
Scale
12 ounces uncooked rotini or penne pasta
1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
1 small onion, diced
2 cups pizza sauce or marinara sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
20 slices pepperoni
1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)
1/2 green bell pepper, diced (optional)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef or sausage with diced onion until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
Add pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder to the meat. Stir to combine and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta and meat sauce. Stir in 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese.
Pour mixture into the prepared baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Arrange pepperoni slices on top and add black olives or diced bell peppers if desired.
Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
Notes
