Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate is a cozy and creamy seasonal drink that combines the richness of traditional hot chocolate with the warm flavors of pumpkin pie spice and real pumpkin puree. Perfect for chilly autumn days or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
  • Chocolate shavings or extra spice, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together milk, pumpkin puree, cocoa powder, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. Heat the mixture, whisking frequently, until hot but not boiling (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings or a sprinkle of spice, if desired.
  5. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use almond, oat, or coconut milk for a dairy-free version.
  • Adjust sweetness to taste by adding more or less maple syrup.
  • Add a shot of espresso for a pumpkin spice mocha twist.
  • Double the recipe for a crowd or store extra in the fridge and reheat gently.
