Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole milk (or dairy-free alternative)
  • ½ cup heavy cream (or coconut cream)
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon red food coloring (or beet powder for a natural option)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Toppings (Optional but Recommended)

  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate shavings or sprinkles
  • Mini marshmallows
  • A drizzle of melted white chocolate

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk & cream: In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk and heavy cream until hot but not boiling. Stir occasionally.
  2. Melt the chocolate: Add the white chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and cocoa powder. Whisk until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Sweeten & flavor: Stir in the sugar, vanilla extract, red food coloring, and salt. Adjust sweetness as needed.
  4. Serve: Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or marshmallows. Enjoy warm!

Notes

  • Dairy-Free Option: Use almond, oat, or coconut milk and replace heavy cream with coconut cream.
  • Extra Rich Flavor: Add a splash of espresso for a mocha twist.
  • Make It Spiked: Add a shot of Baileys, Kahlua, or vanilla vodka for an adult version.
  • Red Color Alternative: Use beet powder instead of food coloring for a natural red hue.
