Rice Krispie Easter Nests are a fun and festive twist on the classic treat! These sweet little nests are made from gooey marshmallow cereal treats and shaped into nests filled with mini chocolate eggs or jelly beans. They’re perfect for Easter parties, class treats, or edible crafts with kids.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

  • Optional: ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • Cooking spray or butter (for greasing hands and muffin pan)

  • 12 cups mini candy eggs (like Cadbury Mini Eggs, M&M’s, or jelly beans)

  • Optional: shredded coconut (dyed green for “grass”)

Instructions

  • In a large pot, melt butter over medium-low heat.

  • Add marshmallows and stir until fully melted and smooth. Stir in vanilla if using.

  • Remove from heat and quickly mix in the Rice Krispies until well coated.

  • Lightly grease a muffin tin and your hands with butter or cooking spray.

  • Scoop a small amount of the cereal mixture into each muffin cup and press down gently, shaping into a nest by creating a small well in the center.

  • Let cool for 15–20 minutes, then remove from pan.

  • Fill each nest with 2–3 candy eggs. Optional: add a pinch of green-tinted coconut for grass before adding the eggs.

Notes

  • To color coconut “grass”: add a few drops of green food coloring to a zip-top bag with shredded coconut. Shake until evenly tinted.

  • Best enjoyed within 2 days for maximum freshness.

  • Let kids decorate their own nests for a fun Easter activity!
