Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 (8 oz) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • ½ lb ground sausage (pork, turkey, or chicken)
  • 1 (10 oz) can Rotel (diced tomatoes & green chilies), drained well
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep:

    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook the Sausage:

    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned. Drain excess grease.
    • Stir in drained Rotel, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
    • Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Stir in cheddar cheese, if using.
  3. Assemble the Crescent Rolls:

    • Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles.
    • Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture on the wide end of each triangle.
    • Roll up the dough, starting from the wide end, and tuck in the sides to seal.
  4. Bake the Rolls:

    • Place rolls on the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down.
    • Brush with beaten egg for a golden crust (optional).
    • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Serve & Enjoy!

    • Serve warm with ranch, salsa, or honey mustard for dipping!

Notes

  • Swap sausage for ground beef, chorizo, or bacon.
  • Use reduced-fat cream cheese for a lighter version.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes for extra spice.
