This Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork Tenderloin is an easy and delicious way to turn a lean cut of pork into a flavorful, juicy, and fall-apart-tender meal. Cooked low and slow in your favorite barbecue sauce with simple spices, it’s perfect for sandwiches, tacos, bowls, or served with classic sides like coleslaw and cornbread.
2 to 2.5 lbs pork tenderloin (or pork loin)
1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce (plus more for serving)
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Optional: 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper for heat
Buns, coleslaw, or rice for serving
Place pork tenderloin in the slow cooker.
In a bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, chicken broth, vinegar, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne (if using).
Pour sauce mixture over the pork.
Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until pork is very tender and easy to shred.
Remove pork from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
Return shredded pork to the sauce and stir to coat.
Serve on buns, in tacos, over rice, or with your favorite BBQ sides.
Pork tenderloin is lean, so avoid overcooking to keep it juicy—pork loin is also a good substitute.
Add more BBQ sauce after shredding for a saucier texture.
Leftovers freeze great and make awesome sandwiches or wraps!
