Southern Georgia Pecan Cake is a rich, buttery dessert filled with crunchy pecans and warm spices, offering a classic Southern flavor perfect for holidays and special occasions.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped Georgia pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan or tube pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Stir in sour cream and mix until smooth.
  6. Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in chopped pecans.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
