These Spiced Nuts are a crunchy, addictive snack with the perfect mix of sweet, savory, and a little heat. Roasted with warm spices, a touch of sugar, and a hint of cayenne, they’re great for holiday parties, cheese boards, or just grabbing by the handful.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans, walnuts, etc.)

  • 1 egg white

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional for extra sweetness)

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare coating: In a large bowl, whisk the egg white until frothy. Add brown sugar, maple syrup (if using), and all the spices. Mix well.

  3. Coat the nuts: Add the mixed nuts to the bowl and toss until fully coated in the spice mixture.

  4. Bake: Spread the nuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and toasted.

  5. Cool: Let nuts cool completely on the baking sheet. They’ll crisp up as they cool.

  6. Store: Once cooled, store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Use any nuts you like—just make sure they’re raw and unsalted.

  • Want it sweeter? Add a pinch more brown sugar or drizzle with honey before baking.

  • These make great gifts! Just pack in a mason jar or treat bag and add a ribbon.
