Sticky Honey Soy Baked Chicken is a deliciously tender and juicy dish coated in a savory, sweet, and slightly tangy glaze. It’s easy to prepare and perfect for a flavorful weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs (bone-in or boneless)
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with foil.
  2. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  3. In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, vinegar, vegetable oil, and sesame oil.
  4. Place chicken on the tray and brush with half the sauce.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, then brush with remaining sauce.
  6. Bake another 10–15 minutes until chicken is fully cooked and glaze is sticky.
  7. Broil for 2–3 minutes if a caramelized finish is desired.
  8. Let rest 5 minutes, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve.

  • Marinate chicken in the sauce for up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.
  • Adjust sweetness and saltiness by varying honey and soy sauce amounts.
  • Great served with steamed rice and vegetables.
