Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cups (800 g) fresh or canned peach slices (drained if canned)
  • ¼ cup (50 g) brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare the batter:
    • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk until smooth.
  • Melt the butter:
    • Pour the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish, ensuring it evenly coats the bottom.
  • Layer the ingredients:
    • Pour the batter over the melted butter. Do not stir.
    • Evenly distribute the peach slices over the batter. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon (if using) on top of the peaches.
  • Bake:
    • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the batter has risen around the peaches.
  • Cool and serve:
    • Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Fresh peaches work best, but canned or frozen peaches can be used as a convenient substitute.
  • For a sweeter cobbler, increase the brown sugar topping to ½ cup.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
