This Taco Ring is a creative twist on classic tacos! Flaky crescent roll dough is filled with seasoned ground beef, cheese, and your favorite taco toppings, baked into a golden, pull-apart ring. It’s easy to make and perfect for sharing at parties or family gatherings.

  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix (or 3 tablespoons homemade taco seasoning)
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican cheese blend)
  • 1 small tomato, diced (optional, for garnish)
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions (optional)
  • Shredded lettuce, for serving (optional)
  • Sour cream, salsa, or guacamole (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  2. Cook the Beef:

    • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until fully browned.
    • Drain any excess grease, then add taco seasoning and water. Stir and simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened.

  3. Assemble the Taco Ring:

    • Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles.
    • Arrange the triangles in a circular pattern on the baking sheet with the wide ends overlapping in the center and the points facing outward, forming a sun-like shape.
    • Spoon the seasoned beef evenly around the inner edge of the dough ring.
    • Sprinkle shredded cheese over the meat.
    • Fold the pointed ends of the triangles over the filling and tuck them under the dough to secure the ring.

  4. Bake:

    • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.

  5. Garnish and Serve:

    • Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
    • Garnish with diced tomatoes, olives, and green onions if desired.
    • Serve with shredded lettuce, sour cream, salsa, or guacamole on the side for dipping.
