Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix (or 2 tbsp homemade)

  • ½ cup water

  • 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • ½ cup diced tomatoes

  • ½ cup shredded lettuce

  • ¼ cup diced red onion

  • ¼ cup sour cream (optional)

  • ¼ cup salsa (optional)

  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.

  • Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.

  • Slice slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves in a baking dish.

  • Spread cooked taco meat evenly over the buns.

  • Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.

  • Add diced tomatoes, lettuce, and onion (optional to bake or add fresh after baking).

  • Place the top halves of buns over the toppings.

  • Mix melted butter and garlic powder, then brush over the top buns.

  • Bake for 10–15 minutes, until cheese is melted and tops are golden.

  • Serve warm with sour cream and salsa on the side, if desired.

Notes

  • You can swap beef with ground turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter version.

  • Add sliced jalapeños for some extra heat.

  • These are best served fresh but can be reheated in the oven.
