Ingredients
Scale
1 package of pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Green spinach or pesto sauce (optional, for a green tree look)
Toppings for decorations:
Cherry tomatoes (as ornaments)
Bell peppers (cut into stars or strips)
Black olives (sliced)
Pepperoni slices
Fresh basil leaves
1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
Instructions
Preheat and prepare:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Shape the dough:
Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface. Cut it into large Christmas tree shapes using a knife or a tree-shaped cookie cutter.
Transfer the dough trees to the prepared baking sheet.
Add the base layer:
Spread pizza sauce (or green spinach/pesto sauce for a more “tree-like” appearance) evenly over the dough.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Decorate the trees:
Use cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, olives, and pepperoni to decorate your trees like Christmas ornaments. Cut a star shape from yellow bell peppers for the tree topper, if desired.
Bake:
Brush the edges of the dough with olive oil to make them golden.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
Serve:
Let the pizzas cool slightly, then serve warm. Encourage kids to enjoy their creative, festive dinner!
Notes
For extra fun, let kids customize their own trees with toppings before baking.
Use a variety of colorful vegetables for a vibrant look!
