Ingredients

Scale
For the Cookies:
  • 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (175g) white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (75g) pink, red, and white Valentine’s sprinkles
For Decoration:
  • Heart-shaped candies or conversation hearts
  • Melted white or dark chocolate (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven:
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
2. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
3. Cream the Butter and Sugars:
  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until combined.
4. Combine and Add Mix-Ins:
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  2. Fold in the white chocolate chips and Valentine’s sprinkles with a spatula.
5. Shape the Cookies:
  1. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  2. Press a heart-shaped candy gently into the center of each cookie, if desired.
6. Bake:
  1. Bake the cookies for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers should still look slightly soft.
  2. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
7. Decorate (Optional):
  • Drizzle cooled cookies with melted chocolate and sprinkle with additional sprinkles for extra flair.

Notes

  • For a more festive look, press extra sprinkles onto the dough balls before baking.
  • These cookies store well in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • Freeze cookie dough balls for up to 3 months and bake directly from frozen, adding an extra minute to the baking time.
