Waldorf salad is a classic fruit and nut salad made with crisp apples, celery, grapes, and walnuts, all tossed in a creamy dressing. It’s refreshing, crunchy, and perfect as a side dish or light meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups chopped apples (red or green, or a mix)
  • 1 cup red seedless grapes, halved
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce leaves for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine chopped apples, grapes, celery, and walnuts.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt), lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the dressing over the fruit and nut mixture and toss gently to combine.
  4. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Serve on a bed of lettuce leaves if desired.

Notes

  • Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for a balanced flavor.
  • Greek yogurt can be used for a lighter, tangier version.
  • Add raisins or dried cranberries for extra sweetness.
  • Toast the walnuts for added depth of flavor.
