Yum Yum Sauce is a creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet Japanese steakhouse-style sauce that’s perfect for dipping or drizzling over grilled meats, seafood, and vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste (or ketchup)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • 12 tablespoons water (to thin, as needed)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, tomato paste, melted butter, sugar, garlic powder, paprika, and rice vinegar until smooth.
  2. Gradually add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld.
  4. Stir before serving and use as a dipping sauce or drizzle over your favorite dishes.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne or a few drops of hot sauce.
  • Tastes best after chilling for a few hours or overnight.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
