Churro French Toast combines the crispy, cinnamon-sugar goodness of churros with the soft, buttery texture of classic French toast. This indulgent breakfast (or dessert!) is easy to make and perfect for weekend brunch or special occasions.

For the French Toast:

  • 4 slices thick bread (brioche, Texas toast, or challah)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk (or half-and-half)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp butter (for frying)

For the Churro Coating:

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

For Serving (Optional):

  • Maple syrup or chocolate sauce
  • Whipped cream
  • Fresh berries


Instructions

1. Make the Churro Coating:

  • In a shallow dish, mix sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.

2. Prepare the Batter:

  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon.

3. Cook the French Toast:

  • Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.

4. Coat in Churro Sugar:

  • Brush the cooked French toast with melted butter.
  • Immediately dip in the cinnamon-sugar mix, coating both sides.

5. Serve & Enjoy!

  • Drizzle with maple syrup, chocolate sauce, or dulce de leche.
  • Top with whipped cream or berries for extra indulgence!

Notes

Extra Crispy: Use day-old bread for better texture.
Make It Dairy-Free: Use almond or oat milk and dairy-free butter.
Air Fryer Option: Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway.
