Ingredients
Scale
1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
¾ cup (150g) brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional, for a wintery twist)
1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup (90g) white chocolate chips
¼ cup (40g) festive holiday sprinkles
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
Cream the Butter and Sugars:
In a large bowl, use a hand or stand mixer to beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the Eggs and Vanilla:
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until combined.
Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using). Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
Fold in the Add-Ins:
Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and holiday sprinkles. Save a few sprinkles and chips for topping if desired.
Scoop and Shape:
Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers look slightly underbaked (they will firm up as they cool).
Cool and Decorate:
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. If desired, press extra sprinkles or chips into the tops while the cookies are still warm for a festive touch.
Notes
For added holiday flair, use peppermint-flavored white chocolate chips or add ½ teaspoon of peppermint extract to the dough.
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
Add a dusting of powdered sugar on top for a “snowy” winter wonderland effect!
