Classic Margaritas are a refreshing and tangy cocktail made with tequila, lime juice, and orange liqueur, served over ice with a salted rim. They’re perfect for parties, summer evenings, or any festive occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz tequila (preferably blanco)
  • 1 oz triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Coarse salt (for rimming the glass)
  • Lime wedges (for garnish and rimming)

Instructions

  1. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a glass and dip into coarse salt to coat.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  3. Add tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and simple syrup (if using) to the shaker.
  4. Shake well for about 15 seconds until chilled.
  5. Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice.
  6. Strain the margarita mixture into the glass.
  7. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the simple syrup to balance tartness to your taste.
  • Use fresh lime juice for best flavor.
  • For a frozen version, blend all ingredients with ice instead of shaking.
  • Try flavored variations like mango, strawberry, or jalapeño-infused.
